Terms of Use

Last updated: July 2026

By accessing Center Field Politics (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. These terms are a plain-language summary and are not legal advice.

Informational use only

The Site is provided for general informational and civic-education purposes. It does not provide legal, financial, electoral, or professional advice. See the disclaimer for important limitations on accuracy and sourcing.

Provided “as is” — no warranty

The Site and all content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the content is accurate, current, complete, or error-free, or that the Site will be uninterrupted or secure.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Center Field Politics and its contributors will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content, including reliance on any information presented here.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Site, including by attempting to disrupt or overload it, or by bypassing rate limits or security controls. In particular, you may not:

  • use automated means — including bots, crawlers, spiders, scripts, or scrapers — to access, monitor, index, or copy any part of the Site or its content;
  • bulk-download, harvest, extract, or systematically retrieve the compiled data or card content, in whole or in substantial part;
  • circumvent, disable, or interfere with rate limiting, access controls, or any measure intended to limit automated or wholesale access;
  • use the compiled data or card content to build, train, or improve a competing product or service, or to train machine-learning or AI models; or
  • submit false, abusive, or unlawful content through any form (such as refresh or correction requests).

Intellectual property

The underlying facts on this Site are drawn from public and third-party sources and are not themselves owned by us. However, our compilation of those facts — including the selection, arrangement, and curation of data, the computed baseball-style statistics, rankings, scout reports, neutral summaries, issue classifications, and the overall look, feel, and presentation of the cards — is original work protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws, and is owned by Center Field Politics. Nothing here grants you any license to that compiled work except to view it for personal, non-commercial use.

No republication or redistribution

Except for brief, attributed quotation consistent with fair use, you may not copy, reproduce, republish, redistribute, sell, license, or otherwise exploit the compiled data, statistics, rankings, or card content — in whole or in substantial part — without our prior written permission. Underlying source material remains the property of its respective owners; we display source names, links, and dates rather than reproducing full articles. Trademarks and names of officials, outlets, and agencies are used for identification only and do not imply endorsement or affiliation.

External links

The Site links to external websites for source verification. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those sites; links do not imply endorsement.

Changes

We may update these terms as the project evolves. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
